Abstract

832,359. Handles for receptacles. STEWART PLASTICS Ltd. Aug. 6, 1957 [Sept. 21, 1956; Nov. 6, 1956], Nos. 28968/56 and 33823/56. Class 66. A receptacle 1 has a detachable handle 5, either the handle or the upper part of the receptacle having a projection for entering a hole or socket on the other of these two members, the projection being locked in position by a shoulder formed either on the handle or the receptacle at least one of these members being resilient. The receptacle 1, in the form of a trug, has a reinforced edge 2 formed with pockets 3 having openings 9 into which fit tongues 8 upstanding from plates 6 which extend from plastics handles 5, the plates 6 defining shoulders 7. The tongues 8 may be replaced by headed studs which are inserted into holes formed in the outer walls of the pockets 3, Figs 5 and 6 (not shown). The receptacle may be moulded of polythene or plasticised polyvinyl chloride.
