Abstract
831,360. Mineral - mining machines. STAHLWERKE BRUNINGHAUS G.m.b.H. Dec. 20, 1957 [Dec 20, 1956], No. 39690/57. Class 68(1) A cutter-bearing arm 6 pivotally mounted on a carriage 2 scrapes mineral from the buttock of a longwall face as it is swung to and fro by piston-cylinder motors 7, 17 and 18. The carriage 2 is moved by a rack and pinion drive 13 along rails secured to a sledge 1 transversely of the direction of advance of the sledge 1 over the mine floor. The sledge 1 is advanced step by step due to inter-action of two groups of expandable props 3, 3<SP>1</SP> and 5 extending between roof and floor and expandable jacks 4, 14 extending between the sledge 1 and the rear group of props 5. The mineral is received from the cutter arm is retained and loaded sideways to a face conveyer c by inclined ramps mounted on the carriage 2 and extending over the motors 7, 17 and 18.
