Abstract
Fluid-permeable elements comprise sintered masses formed from globular particles of polytetrafluoroethylene, the particles being of such sizes as will provide a degree of permeability lying within the desired range. Preferably the major dimension of the largest particle is not more than twice that of the smallest. The elements may be prepared by heating the particles in a mould, optionally under pressure, to sintering temperature. The elements may be used as filters, barriers for the separation of immiscible liquids, pressure pulse snubbers or for controlling or metering the flow of liquids.ALSO:Fluid-permeable elements comprise sintered masses formed from globular particles of polytetrafluoroethylene, the particles being of such sizes as will provide a degree of permeability lying within the desired range.
