575,446. Filters. STOKES, E. A., and VOKES, Ltd. Dec. 15, 1943, Nos. 21048/43 and 1318/44. [Class 46] [Also in Group V] A filter comprises fins or like elements 2 the interior of each element consisting of a. skeleton filling of the same material as, and integral with, both sides of the element. In forming the element (See Group V) ceramic material in its plastic state is placed in a mould, a perforated disc 5, preferably of filter paper or blotting paper, is placed on top and more ceramic material is placed above the paper. The parts are then compressed and heated, and during the kilning the paper is decomposed and can be removed from the space 7. This space communicates with the inner edge of the element. The elements are threaded on a perforated tube 8 between packing rings 9 and are secured between end pieces 10, 11 connected by a clamping rod 12. In the case where the flow of liquid is to be outwards the space 7 is made to open to the outside edge of the elements. Specification 560,202 is referred to.
