Class 100(2) A machine for printing selected lines of text of a master sheet on to a copy sheet, by means of an impression roller making contact with a rotatable printing, element at selected times, comprises a straight elongated array of manually operable setting means for controlling the co-operation of the roller and element, there being at least as many setting means as lines of the master sheet, and a device for holding a copy of the master sheet beside the setting means in correct line relationship therewith. The copy is clamped horizontally against bars 204, 205 and for each line there is provided one of a series of keys T1-T27 arranged in staggered relationship in two columns. Each key when depressed closes one of the contacts S1-S27 and is held down by mechanism 237 until a handle on a shaft 247 is rotated and by means of a plate 249 releases all the keys.
