830,432. Mounting turn-tables. KEARNS & CO. Ltd., H. W. May 29, 1958 [June 4, 1957], No. 17695/57. Class 83 (3). In a horizontal boring &c. machine, the turntable a has jacks i for engaging a circulartrack f to raise the table before it is rotated. The square-table pivots on a bolt in a T-slot in a compound slide or, as shown, on a pin d in the slide. Bolts h loosely suspend the balltrack f beneath the table, which receives the nuts l of screw-jacks i in passages m. Bearings j beneath the jacks engage plugs k, which bear on the track f, and the jacks are keyed to sprockets o surrounded by a chain p. This is connected to a nut q on a screw r rotated to jack the table on to the track f. The Provisional Specification refers also to the use of hydraulic jacks.
