Abstract

830,051. Bottle &c. closures. ESCO (RUBBER) Ltd., and SHUPAK, W. Aug. 20, 1958 [July 5, 1957; Sept. 4, 1957], Nos. 21351/57 and 27878/57. Class 125(3). A bottle closure device is formed from resilient material such as rubber and has a cylindrical waist 11, an outwardly directed flange 12 and a frusto-conical head 13 with a shoulder 14, the waist 11 of the device being inserted into the bottle neck 16 and a resilient ring 15 being rolled downwardly overhead 13 until it snaps between shoulder 14 and the upper end 18 of neck 16 to urge flange 12 against the shoulder 17 of the bottle neck. In a modification head 13 is replaced by a skirt 19 with flange 20 and to close the bottle the device is pulled upwardly and the skirt 19 turned downwardly and sprung over the bottle neck. The waist 11 may be solid instead of a hollow tube. A syringe may be inserted through membrane 21 which is self sealing.
