Abstract
829,860. Filters. STAMICARBON N.V. April 2, 1958 [April 2, 1957], No. 10660/58. Class 46. Wet-screening apparatus consists of a screening deck (not shown) composed of assembled spaced bars (or as below) and a discharge device, Fig. 7 or Fig. 10, comprising a casing with an inlet 2 through which liquid and particles may be continuously supplied and a discharge passage 4 through which the mixture may continuously discharge to flow as a layer along one side of the screening deck in a direction normal to the bars, the passage being rectangular in cross-section and terminating in a slot-like opening, one or both walls being wholly or partly movable to prevent blockage by exceptionally large particles. In Fig. 10 plate 44 is adjustably secured by nuts and bolts through packing 46 to wall 49, and plate 45 similarly to wall 50. In Fig. 1 (not shown) wall 7 forms one wall of the slot, the other being formed by a movable wall attached by a spring plate to the inside of fixed wall 14 and adjustable by a screw, or automatically by spring or counterweight means. In Figs. 4 and 13 (not shown) the movable wall is hinged. In Fig. 7 walls 31 and 14 are formed in one piece of flexible material adjustable by nut and bolt as shown. The screening deck may alternatively be formed by a perforated plate, and in either case it may be curved in the direction of flow. The discharge device is especially suitable for the apparatus of Specifications 791,520, 791,857, 791,858 and 791,859.
