Abstract

829,651. Garages; posts. FITCH & CO. Ltd., K., and FITCH, C. K. May 13, 1958 [Feb. 14, 1957], No 1424/57. Class 20(1) [Also in Group XXX] A garage comprises a number of spaced vertical members 10 which have projections 13 to receive a pallet 14 on which a car 11 is supported, and a fork lift truck to raise the pallets into position. The vertical members may be made from concrete with the projections moulded on to them or may be of steel, the projections then comprising L or channel shaped members which may extend between two uprights. Ties 12 are used particularly when there are sets of three or more vertical members in line to provide space for two pallets side by side. Tracks are provided for guiding the fork lift truck between the uprights. Pallets (Group XXX) made of wood or metal are described and for ease of insertion of the pallets, the projections are made with rounded or flared ends.
