Abstract
829,513. Non-refillable bottles. SCHENINGER, J. Dec. 10, 1957 [Dec. 31, 1956], No. 38342/57. Class 66. A non - refillable closure for a bottle comprises a hollow plug 1 having an aperture 4 in its lower end wall 18 of which an upturned rim 16 forms a seat for a polyethylene valve member 15 lying under a ball 14 retained by a cap 9, a top closure 5 having a skirt 7 with vent opening 25 leading into an annular air chamber 24 from which an air passage 26 extends through the wall 18 into the bottle by a tubular ex- tension 27, a spring clip 4 with shoulders 33, 34 engaging a shoulder 32 in the bottle neck, the top closure 5 having a neck 10 which receives a tubular spout 12 having a dust cap 13. Lugs 8 fixed to the end 6 of the top closure 5 limit upward movement of the cap 9 which rests on a shoulder 22 of the plug 1. Lugs 19 fixed to the plug 1 retain the valve member 15 in alignment with its seat 16. Specification 780,679 is referred to.
