Abstract
829,186. Transmission line circuits. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. March 27, 1956 [March 31, 1955], No. 9365/55. Class 40 (8). A D.C. conductor is so shaped and so disposed in a transmission line that it lies normal to the electric lines of force of the propagated energy and offers minimum disturbance to transmission. The conductor may be in the form of a flat spiral 5 joining the inner and outer conductors 1, 2 of a coaxial line. Alternatively, the conductor may pass through an aperture in the outer conductor from which it is insulated. The conductor may be printed on a disc of insulating material which is placed at a desired position in the line. The invention may be applied to waveguides. The conductor may be used, e.g. to provide a D.C. path for a crystal or thermistor employed in series with a coaxial line or to provide D.C. connections to a diode disposed inside a waveguide.
