Abstract

828,751. Metal-vapour lamps. HACKBRIDGE & HEWITTIC ELECTRIC CO. Ltd., and KANEY, J. W. Aug. 21, 1958 [Oct. 29, 1957], No. 33679 /57. Class 39(1). A vapour arc lamp 11, Fig. 1, is mounted in an outer protective envelope 10<SP>2</SP> by means of metal sleeves 12 fitted over the lamp 11 and provided with prongs 14 which extend outwards to the ends of the envelope 10<SP>2</SP> and are bent back over its outer surface and held in position by a clamping ring 15<SP>1</SP>. The ends 18 of the lamp are inside the ends of envelope 10<SP>2</SP> and may be provided with quartz shields 19.
