Classes 103(6) and 108(3) A spring element comprises members 1, 2 linked by rubber rollers 4a, 4b, 5a, 5b, and an intermediate member 7 which undergoes slight rotational movement when the members 1 and 2 move relatively to one another thereby rolling and compressing the rollers between surfaces 6. As shown in Fig. 5, four of these elements are incorporated in an axle box mounting on a rail vehicle with the members 1 secured to a frame 12 attached to the vehicle body and members 2 secured to the axle box 9 by a frame 11.
