Abstract

A soap composition used in a method of producing a relief model (see Group XV) is formed from castor oil fatty acids 80 parts by weight; sodium carbonate (anhydrous) 25 parts; sodium hydroxide solution (100 #to ) 4 parts; ethylene diamine tetra-acetic acid (tetra-sodium salt) 0.5 parts; and citronella 0.25 parts. The fatty acids are heated to about 300 DEG F. and then poured slowly, with continuous stirring, on to the sodium carbonate. When the evolution of gas subsides the other ingredients are stirred in. The product obtained is rolled out while still warm into a layer 0.01 inch thick, and these layers are cut to shape and placed one upon the other to form the relief model.
