Class 103(4) A monorail vehicle bogie adapted to straddle a track-supporting structure 28, Figs. 1, 2 and 6, in a saddle-like manner, and provided with supporting wheels 5 and side wheels 21, 22 bearing against the upper face and sides respectively of said structure 28, comprises a frame on which the ends of two adjacent vehicles bear and to which, at least, the supporting wheels 5 are secured. As shown, the frame includes two parallel members 8, 9 of stirrup form connected by upper and lower cross bracings 14, 15, and centrally of the upper parts of the members 8, 9 are arranged two ball pivots 13 adapted to mate with sockets on the two vehicles, the latter resting on spring cups 12 disposed at the ends of laterally-projecting brackets 11 on the members 8, 9. The wheels 5 are rubber-tyred and arranged in pairs, on common stub axles in tandem with the bearings thereof interconnected by pivotal levers 6, 7 mounted between pivot pins 10, the pivots 10 for the outer wheels being carried in brackets 31 fixed to the members 8, 9; as regards the side wheels, the lowermost 22 are carried by the lower cross bracings 15 and the others 21 are each linked to a lever 23 which is pivoted to the member 8 or 9 and is provided with a rearward extension 24 bearing against a compression spring 25. Resiliently mounted between the supports 8, 9 on each side of the bogie is a driving motor 16 which drives the wheels 5 through bevel gears, located in a housing 27, and jointed shafts 29. In a modification, not shown, the bogie comprises a single frame member of stirrup shape which carries a central pivot pin adapted to be engaged by apertured lugs secured to the abutting ends of adjacent vehicles.
