Abstract

827.203. Vehicle lamps. TENSILE PRODUCTS Ltd. Aug. 13. 1957 [Aug. 15, 1956]. No. 24942/56. Class 75(4) A lens cover for application to vehicle head lamps consisting of an electric lamp, a reflector and a front lens 17 and supporting ring 6 held in place by clamping ring 11, so as to provide a tinted beam comprises a part spherical main portion 2 overlying the lens 17 and an integral rearwardly extending skirt 3 fitting over the supporting ring 6 and having at its rear end outwardly directed flange means 8 for engagement behind the clamping ring 11 to secure the cover in place. The cover may be formed by a vacuum moulding process from a tinted blank of thermoplastic material and where the lens 17 has a moulded surface pattern, a corresponding pattern may be formed on the cover. The cover may also be provided with an opaque vizor 5 on its upper edge.
