A machine for splitting resilient materials, e.g. foamed plastics comprises a roller b for driving an endless conveyer belt c to move the material a over a feed table d 1 , d 2 to a band knife f, a gauging roller e, and means for compressing and feeding the material comprising V-belts r running over grooved rollers h, i which are adjustable heightwise of the feed table. The roller b, belt c and table d 1 , d 2 are adjustable relatively to the knife f to compensate for changes in the thickness of the material.
