Abstract

825,171. Plastic hulls. SAUNDERS-ROE (ANGLESEY) Ltd. June 20, 1958 [April 4, 1957], No. 11031/57. Class 113. In the construction of a glass fibre reinforced resin boat hull, plastic strips 10 are placed diagonally on the timber, or metal, hull framework 11 and a preliminary covering 12, consisting of alternate layers of resin and glass fibre, is applied to the outer surface of the skin so formed. The covering 12 is then secured to the framework 11 by countersunk bolts B, Fig. 2 (not shown), and the final covering 14, also consisting of alternate layers of resin and glass fibre is applied to the outer surface until the required thickness of hull is obtained.
