Abstract

824,358. Draught excluders. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. Aug. 13, 1957 [Oct. 26, 1956], No. 32795/56. Class 20(3) [Also in Group XXV] A fastener for securing flexible material to a support comprises a U-shaped member wherein at least one of the arms 2, 3 of the U is formed with an integral prong 5 extending inwardly of the fastener with its free end directed towards the base 1 of the U and a portion of at least one of the arms of the U also being cut and bent to provide a prong 4 extending outwardly of the base 1 in the opposite direction to the arm. As shown both arms 2, 3 are provided with prongs 5 and a pair of prongs 4 and the fastener is used to secure a draught excluder strip to an edge 10 of a rigid support, the prongs 5 frictionally engaging the edge faces and the prongs 4 digging into a web 7 of the draught excluder which latter includes a hollow bead 6 and a trim fabric covering 9.
