824,099. Springs for railway vehicles. SEPNCER MOULTON & CO. Ltd., G. Feb. 28, 1956 [June 3, 1954], No. 16448/54. Class 103(6) In a railway vehicle bogie, a spring suspension for each end of the bolster 1 comprises a frusto-conical bonded metal and rubber sandwich spring 7, 8, 9, mounted on the spring plank or bogie frame 6 and provides transverse location of the bolster as well as vertical springing therefor. The complete spring comprises an outer hollow frusto-conical metal member 7 carried by a platform 5 projecting from the frame member 6, a hollow rubber cone 8 and an inner hollow metal member 9 supported by a member 10 depending from a dowel plate 11 located in the end of the bolster 1 by a dowel 12. In another form the spring is reversed end for end. The central bearing 2 for the bolster is rubber busher at 3 for a king pin 4. Specifications 763,432 and 824,100 are referred to.
