Abstract

823,527. Cylinder paper-making machines &c. TROTMAN, W. E. K. March 29, 1956 [April 4, 1955], No. 9766/55. Class 96. To equalize the strength, in the lengthwise and cross directions, of paper or paper-board formed on a cylinder machine, pulp is made to flow in a sinuous or zig-zag course as it approaches the mould 10, either due to flow-guides 12 on the wall of the vat, or due to a baffle (not shown in Fig. 1) with louvres between the vat wall 11 and the mould 10; the fibre directions being varied irregularly or as a pattern. The flow-guides 12 are disposed edgewise between the vat and the mould.
