823,478. Making bale ties. TIMMERBEIL, P., TIMMERBEIL, H., and TIMMERBEIL, E. Aug. 22, 1957 [Aug. 22, 1956], No. 26543/57. Class 83 (2). [Also in Group XXV] Relates to bands for hooping packages such as compressed bales, the band being formed at each end with fastening means which are interengageable with one another when the band ends are overlapped to secure the band ends together. According to the invention, a plurality of band lengths are joined together to form a continuous band by a connection permitting separation by hand. As shown, in which adjacent ends of a band are fastened by a slot and hook connection between pressed-out parts 10 and corresponding slots 5, the band lengths are joined together for winding on a reel by parts 7 which in conjunction with a troughshaped impression 6 on one band length 4, permits separation of the band lengths. Alternatively, the band lengths may be separated by perforations applied to the continuous band length. Specifications 694,002 and 719,021, [both in Group XV], are referred to.
