Abstract

822,269. Mops ; handle fixings. CRAVENNE, R. April 20, 1956 [May 4, 1955], No. 12998/55. Classes 19 and 61. In a mop frame 12 formed from a continuous metal strip the oppositely extending arms 14, 15 of the frame embrace a circular loop 13 but are only integral with the loop at one point 16, 17. In the loop are provided two pairs of diametrically opposite bores 19, 20 and 22, 23 that in turn receive the pair of pivot ends 41, 42 of a handle structure 27 so as to permit of the frame to rock about two axes at right angles. .The means for connecting the mop frame to the handle comprises a stiff, resilient, V-shaped wire having pivot portions 41, 42 for connection to the mop frame and a curved portion 29 that is inserted into one end of a split metal tube 31. A long screw 34 having, a flattened head 35 is also inserted into the tube 31 and the tube adjacent the head 35 of the screw and wire portion 29 is flattened and crimped about the head 35 and wire portion 29. The handle is entered into the other end of the tube and screwed onto the screw 34. Specification 822,268 is referred to.
