Abstract
821,462. Suitcases &c. SEGAL, M. Nov. 21, 1957 [Nov. 22, 1956], No. 35769/56. Class 18. The base 2 and/or lid 3 panel of a suitacse &c. is prevented from outward displacement relative to the body walls or lid flange by a strip 5 with a bead 6 secured to the walls or flange by stitching, with the bead projecting over the outer face of the panel. The strip 5 may be channeled to receive the edge of the member to which it is attached. The stitching 7 may be used to prevent inward displacement of the panels insofar that it forms a series of projections adjacent their inner sides, but additional reinforcement may be provided by adhesive lined strip (not shown). The body and lid may be lined. Right angled brackets 8 may be riveted to the members in lieu of adhesive strips. In the Provisional Specification the panels are located between the end edges of the lid or flange on body walls and the beading.
