Abstract

821,444. Cooling commutators of dynamoelectric machines. NAPIER & SON Ltd., D. May 23, 1957 [June 6, 1956], No. 17486/56. Class 35. A commutator comprises axially extending bars with spaces therebetween keyed to a series of three or more axially spaced rings and mounted on a hollow hub apertured for the passage of air which then flows outward between the bars. As shown, the bars 16 are mounted on spaced steel rings 18 carried by the hub 10 which has apertures 14, 15 for the flow of air before it passes between the bars.
