Abstract
821,005. Making ampoules. OWENSILLINOIS GLASS CO. Sept. 4, 1957, No. 27866/57. Classes 56 and 138(1). [Also in Group XXX] To prolong the time during which the open ends of ampoules A being conveyed from the making apparatus are adjacent the nozzle through which a gaseous treating agent is passed for injection into the interior of the ampoules, the necks of the ampoules, which are moved by upstanding fingers 16 on endless conveyers 14, as they approach the nozzle 13 ride over a hump 18 and are retained by a stop 19 adjacent the nozzle, the ampoule now lying at an angle to the conveyer and remaining so until its still moving closed end catches up and the normal movement with the ampoule at right angles to the conveyer is resumed. The descent of the necks down the surface 21 is accelerated by an air jet 24 and the ampoules are rotated, clockwise, by a loose chain 17.
