820,934. Loading machine rollers hydraulically. MATHER & SON Ltd., A. Dec. 16, 1955 [Dec. 22, 1954], No. 37018/54. Class 69 (2). [Also in Group II] In a roller grinding mill, rolls 3, 3a are pressed against a press roll 1 by hydraulic rams 7, 7a in loading cylinders 8, 8a. Pressure is supplied by a pump 9, and the line to each pair of cylinders 8, 8a is provided with a manually operable control valve 14, a manually operated release valve 15, a relief valve 11 and a pressure gauge 12. A scraper bar 16 is pressed against the roll 3a by hydraulic rams, the line to the loading cylinders being provided with valves and a pressure gauge similarly to the other lines. The rolls 3, 3a are mounted in bearings in end levers 5, 5a, which are pivoted at 6, 6a to the machine frame and articulated to the rams 7, 7a.
