Class 146(1) A binder for periodicals 5 or the like comprises front and rear covers 1, joined 'by a spine 2, between the back edges of which extend a pair of spaced substantially similar flexible strips 3 constituting retaining members, the strips 3 being parallel to one another and at right angles to the edges of the covers 1 and at least one clip device 9-12 including a central portion to extend along the inner face of the spine of a periodical 5 and hooked end portions 12, 12 to hook over the two retaining members 3. As shown, the strips 3 are slipped into slots 4 in the covers 1 after being passed through the hooks 12, 12. The clip device is formed by two S-shaped wire members 9 providing the end hooks 12 and inner hooks 10 interconnected by a rubber band 11. In a construction, not shown, a single piece of wire forms the central portion and has inturned hooks. Specification. 617,186 is referred to.
