Abstract

819,425. Electric heating units. SABOUNI, B. B. Jan. 13, 1956, No. 1319/56. Class 39(3) An electric heating unit comprises a resistance wire 10 encased by tightlywound flexible braiding of glass yarn and supported on a metallic frame 12, a member which may be of aluminium alloy being cast round the frame and insulated resistance. The frame 12 is preferably of the same material as the cast member and is provided with a number of elements 16 which space the frame from the side of the mould 15 when the casting material is being poured. Prior to insertion of the frame and resistance within the mould, the frame is preferably cleaned and the resistance heat treated to drive off any volatile matter, blow holes in the casting are thus avoided.
