An electrical heating element comprises resistance wires 5 operating at a temperature higher than 450‹ C, secured by elongated metal strips 2 to a cylindrical insulating frame 1 made of thermosetting or thermoplastic moulded synthetic resin material capable of withstanding temperatures up to 250‹ C., the strips 2 being designed to ensure that this temperature is not exceeded. These strips may be moulded with the support 1 and are notched or slotted to receive the wire, which may be mounted inside the support, Fig. 3 (not shown). In another modification, Fig. 5 (not shown), the support is box-like with plain resistance wire stretched therein between metal distance-pieces comprising hooks and hook-ended coil springs.
