Abstract

818,644. Rotary pumps. HOBOURNEATON MANUFACTURING CO. Ltd. Feb. 19, 1957 [Aug. 13, 1956], No. 5582/57. Class 110 (2). In a pumping system comprising a pump having two working chambers such as 20, 22, Fig. 1, the combined output of the chambers is fed to a valve 18 having an outlet port 58 and an adjustable spring-loaded plunger 52 controlling by-pass ports 38, 40, each communicating with the chambers 22, 20 respectively. In a modification, Fig. 4, the valve is responsive to flow rather than pressure and comprises bypass ports 138, 140, a ported plunger 152 and a discharge port 158.
