Class 82(1) [Also in Group XXXIV] A brake disc of the type in which, to prevent distortion, radial slots 4 are cut away, has a facing 5 of sintered metal, such facing being well spaced from the highly stressed parts of the slot. The facing is preferably formed by compacting under heat and pressure a mixture of the following materials in powdered form, carbon, molybdenum, manganese, nickel, silicon, chromium and iron. The body is of ferrous material, preferably sheet steel.
