814,692. Abrasive tools; sawing. CAPLIN ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. March 4, 1958 [March 4, 1957], No. 7118/57. Classes 60 and 145. An annular disc saw having teeth or abrasive particles on the inside of the annular is clamped at its outer periphery between a pair of rings 2, 3 which are secured by screws 7 over the rim 5 of a chuck body 4, the saw abutting against the round nose of the rim 5 in order to apply radial tension to the saw and the inner ring 3 abutting against the flange 9 of a ring 8 which is screw-threadedly adjustable on the chuck body in order to vary the tension applied to the saw. The ring 8 may be knurled or have tommy bar holes. The screwed ring replaces the removable packing rings shown in Specification 728,835.
