Abstract
A detergent composition comprises a mixture of (a) an alkylphenol polyglycol ether having 7-9 carbon atoms in the alkyl group and 8-10 ether groups per molecule, with (b) not more than 3 times as much of a mixture of water-soluble alkylbenzene sulphonates having 8 and/or 9 carbon atoms in the alkyl group. The composition generally also includes (c) alkylbenzene sulphonates with 10-13 carbon atoms in the alkyl group; and (d) not more than 30 per cent by weight of water-soluble sec. alkyl sulphates having 8-18 carbon atoms in the alkyl group.
