Abstract

812,921. Air pumps. HUNTER, R. H. Sept. 23, 1955 [Sept. 23, 1954], No. 27248/55. Class 8(1). [Also in Groups XI, XXVI and XXIX] The pump for pressurizing the tank 1 of a blowlamp (see Group XI) is positioned within the pillar tube 14 which terminates at 10 near the bottom 4 of the tank. A valve 84 controls an opening in a bush 83 at the bottom of the pump cylinder 13 and leads to a small chamber 85 on an extension 87 of the cylinder 13 from which chamber 85 a tube 86 leads through an opening in the filler tube 14 to communicate with air near the top of the tank to ensure that should the valve 84 leak, air and not fuel will be sucked back into the pump.
