Abstract

812,858. Glazes. VEREINIGTE PORZELLANWERKE KOPPELSDORF. VEB. March 8,1957, No. 7752 /57. Class 56. In the production of semi-conducting glazes on electric insulating bodies an alkali-free glaze is mixed with a binary or ternary metal oxide system, the components of which have a vaporisation point above the melting point of the glaze, selcted from SnO2, Nb2O5; SnO2, Ta2O5; ZnO, La2O3; Fe2O3, Cr2O3, SnO2; Fe2O3, TiO2, Cr2O3; or FezOs, Cr2O3, ZrO2; the mixture of the alkali-free glaze and metal oxides being fired on the insulating body in one firing operation. A brown porcelain glaze containing no manganese oxide may be used as the glaze and a uranium compound of a lowvalency oxide may be added to the glaze.
