Abstract
1,185,425. Magnetic compositions. SIEMENS A.G.. 25 Sept., 1968 [26 Sept., 1967], No. 45430/68. Heading H1H. A square loop LiZn ferrite core is produced by (a) introducing core pressings of a pre-sintered mixture of composition 3À5-15 mole per cent ZnO 10-16 mole per cent Li 2 O 70-81 mole per cent Fe 2 O 3 (the total oxides being 100 mole per cent) in N 2 over 10-30 mins. into a furnace heated to 880-960‹ C.: (b) sintering in O 2 for 15-60 mins. at 880- 960‹ C; (c) heating up to 1060-1220‹ C. in O 2 over 10-30 mins. and sintering in O 2 at this temperature for up to 60 ruins.; (d) cooling in O 2 in the furnace to 880-960‹ C. over 20-30 mins., and optionally holding this temperature for up to 60 ruins.; and (e) removing the cores from the furnace either rapidly in a few mins. in O 2 or slowly in up to 10 mins. in N 2 . The starting mixture may be presintered for 2 hours at 550-800‹ C.
