Abstract
1,003,533. Magnetic compositions. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. June 17, 1964 [June 20, 1963], No. 25072/64. Heading H1H. A method of manufacturing a " square loop " magnetic core comprises the steps of forming a mixture of 14 to 15 mol. per cent of Li 2 O, 6 to 7 mol. per cent of NiO and 77 to 81 mol. per cent of Fe 2 0 3 , or compounds yielding these oxides, presintering at a temperature between 600‹ and 750‹ C., regrinding the product and compressing it into shape, heating a temperature between 1370‹ and 1400‹ C. within a period of not more than 16 minutes, maintaining this temperature for 5 to 10 minutes, cooling to a temperature of between 940‹ and 960‹ C. within a period between 70 to 90 minutes, and quenched in air. A grinding liquid (ethanol) and an organic binder may be used. The cores may be rings with outside diameter between 2.8 and 4 mm. inside diameter more than 0.6 times the inside diameter, and height of 1 to 2 mm. Specification 959,643 is referred to.
