Abstract

812,586. Vehicle wheels. HERDER, W. DEN. Dec. 11, 1956 [Dec. 13, 1955], No. 37825/56. Class 144 (1). A rubber tyred tractor wheel 1 is provided with axially extending radiallyprojecting anti-slip blades or bars 2 cranked at one end to form radial legs 3 which are connected in pairs to form V-shaped forks, the web 4 of each of which is pinned by a radial stud 7 to a ring 9 carried by the wheel body to support the blades 2 clear of the tyre tread, the legs 3 of each fork being radially slidably located between lugs 8 on the wheel body. The blades 2 may extend over the tyre tread as shown, or may extend outwardly of the wheel. A transverse cotter 10 through each stud 7 prevents radially outward displacement of the forks and collars 11 on the blade legs 3 bear against the guide lugs 8 to assist in preventing the blades 2 bearing against the tyre in use.
