Abstract
812,329. Endless conveyers. FISHER & LUDLOW Ltd. May 7, 1957 [Feb. 15, 1956], No. 4682/56. Class 78 (1). A conveyer system for handling pottery or other moulds which require to be inverted to discharge the excess of the liquid used in the moulding operation consists of a conveyer chain 11 running in a track 10 and mould carriers spaced at intervals along the chain, each mould carrier being formed by a horizontal shaft 14 extending to one or both sides of the chain and supporting one or more moulds 23. The shaft 14 is journalled by a spindle 16 at one end in an upstanding lug 13 on the chain and carries at its other end a roller 18 journalled on a spindle 17 and running on a supporting track 12. Means are provided at one or more positions along the conveyer for rotating the shaft 14 to invert the moulds 23. The means for inverting the moulds are preferably as described in Specification 812,330. The moulds 23 are carried on supports 21 having clips 22 for detachably securing the moulds thereon. The supports 21 are mounted on vertical shafts 19 rotatable in bearings 20 in the shaft 14 and carrying at their lower ends rollers 24 engageable with stationary rubbing strips 25 which are provided throughout most of the conveying path, but are discontinued at the position or positions where the moulds are to be inverted. In place of the rollers and rubbing strips pinions and stationary racks may be used. Specifications 639,244 and 738,753 also are referred to.
