812,081. Earth continuity couplings, STEELS ENGINEERING INSTALLATIONS Ltd. June 21, 1957 [July 20, 1956; Feb. 13, 1957], Nos. 22589/56 and 4930/57. Class 38 (1). [Also in Groups XIV and XXV] An insulating pipe support, especially for light alloy pipes in heating installations for oil tanks in ships or storage tanks on land, comprises a strap 3 formed from moulded synthetic resin having a fibre-glass reinforcement, a baseplate 7 of similar material, and a leak-off device controlling the build-up of electrical potential between the pipe and any ferrous part of the installation. As shown, the strap 3, which encircles the pipe, is formed with raised portions 5 for location of the pipe and the baseplate has a raised part 6 provided with a tapered hole 10 for location of a plug 11 of electrically-conductive material bonded with synthetic resin or of synthetic rubber and fitted with a non-ferrous rod or tubular insert 12.
