812,039. Bore-hole apparatus. LONGYEAR CO., E. J. May 23, 1957 [May 31, 1956], No. 16382/57. Class 85 A core barrel comprises a head frame 10 having a central bore 12 and a plurality of branch channels 17A, 17B, a core barrel inner tube 40 journalled on the mounting end 19 of said frame and a core barrel outer tube 16 threaded on said frame. The member 40 is carried by a shaft 32 which is journalled in tapered anti-friction roller bearings 29-29 supported within a shell 24, threaded on the member 19. The core barrel also comprises a wear sleeve 50, a split tapered collar or core lifter 51, a tapered sleeve 52, a reaming shell 60 and a bit 70.
