A liquid distributor for ion exchange filters comprises a plurality of perforated single pipes located side by side inside the filter, each pipe being detachably supported at each of its ends in the shell of the filter casing and connected outside the filter with a common distributor pipe. The ion exchange filter may be of the mixed bed type containing ion exchange materials for removing both anions and cations from liquids in a single filtering operation, as in the determination of water. The liquid distributor may be used for conducting regenerating liquids such as acid or caustic alkali through the ion exchange materials. In Fig. 2, the shell 1 of the casing of the ion exchange filter is provided with a plurality of flanged tubular stubs 2 arranged in pairs on opposite sides of the casing, each pair of stubs supporting a perforated pipe 3. All the pipes 3 are interconnected by a common distributor pipe 7.
