An obstetric frame for holding a patient in the lithotomy position comprises a flat base 1, which may be placed under a mattress, provided with two vertical pillars 3, 3, at the top of which there are hooks 5 to which straps, for supporting the patient's legs, may be attached. The upright pillars 3 may be reinforced by a stiffening member 4 and for ease of transport they are preferably attached to the base by a screw clamp or by hinges. The base is preferably covered with boards 2 or with a metal lattice.
