Abstract

A brazing or soldering alloy consists of 5-10 per cent by weight of Ti and/or Zr, 10-85 per cent by weight of one or more of Pb, Zn, Bi, Cd, In and Sn, and one or more of Cu, Ag, Ni in the following ranges; Cu 10-85 per cent, Ag 5-85 per cent, Ni 5-20 per cent. The alloy is particularly for use in joining ceramic to metal or ceramic to ceramic or for metallizing ceramic surfaces prior to joining the ceramic to a metal or to another ceramic (see Groups XXII and XXXVI). Specification 756,588 is referred to.
