Abstract
A process for the manufacture of a concentrated preparation of sodium oestrone sulphate comprises using as the solvent a mixture comprising triethnaolamine and water, an organic acid such as glacial acetic or lactic acid to adjust the pH to the desired value, and optionally containing a further solution promoter such as acetamide and a substance to avoid discoloration of the composition, e.g. sulphurous acid. In this manner it is possible to produce concentrates containing 30 per cent by weight or more of sodium oestrone sulphate that are soluble for long periods, even at elevated temperatures. The concentrates may be diluted before use and worked up to tablets, dragees, salves or skin creams.
