Abstract

805,081. Boots &c. protectors. CLARK, Ltd., C. & J. Aug. 18, 1955 [Aug. 20, 1954; April 5, 1955], Nos. 24267/54 and 9906/55. Class 17(3) [Also in Group XXV] Means for attaching a rubber &c. stud or heel pad 2 or other component to footwear comprises a shank 1 tapered at 5 to form a recess below a flexible flange 3 thus allowing the flange to collapse temporarily as the stem is inserted into a correspondingly shaped hole in the heel. To prevent rotation, the end of the shank adjacent the flange 3 may be made non- circular in section or a projection may be formed on the shank to enter a corresponding recess in the heel. Larger heel pieces may have a plurality of fastening stems to enter corresponding holes in the heel.
