Abstract
804,960. Two-part couplings combined with switches. BUSCH - JAEGER DURENER METALLWERKE A.G. Sept. 7, 1956 [Sept. 24, 1955], No. 27458/56. Class 38 (1). [Also in Group XXXVII] A switch-plug comprises a hollow body 1 carrying a rotatable switch operating spindle 6 extending in a direction parallel to the pins 5, the lower end of the spindle carrying a rectangular element 6a which, together with a spring-pressed plate 8, serves as a locating means for the switch and as a snap-action device. Above the element 6a is a cam 12 which co-operates with a pair of spring contact blades 3 connected to the pins 5 and, in the " on " position of the switch, engaging a pair of fixed contacts 13, Fig. 4, formed by the depending ends of a pair of metal strips 17 bent round an insulating plate 4 and connected to terminals 16 carried thereby. The plate is secured in the body above the switch mechanism by a screw 9 extending from the pin-carrying face of body 1, the head of the screw being covered by the end of an earthing strip 14 bent round the plate 4 and lower part of the body and carrying a terminal 15. The terminals are located opposite a lateral cable entry aperture 18 and the body is closed at its upper end by a knob 19 which is secured to the spindle 6 and serves as the switch-operating member.
