Abstract

Classes 39(3) and 126 An oven having heating elements within the oven enclosure has a thermally conductive member extending from a part of the oven adjacent the heating element where the member and the oven is heated to a part of the there the member supplies heat to the oven so as to obtain the desired heat distribution within the oven. Heat distributers 27, 28 of aluminium, copper &c. of high heat conductivity extend from the lower part of the sides of a cooking oven to the middle of the bottom of the oven, so that heat provided by electric elements 17, 18 is transferred to the middle of the oven. Baffles 21, 22 protect the elements 17, 18 from grease splashes. The heat distributers 27, 28 are secured to the side walls of the oven adjacent the heating elements, but are spaced from the side parts of the oven bottom. Springs 38 hold the cranked ends of the distributers in close contact with the middle part of the bottom of the oven. The distributers extend over the front part only of the oven, which may be heated by gas burners mounted behind baffles at the sides. The distributers may extend through the oven walls at the sides and the middle of the oven bottom, where a splash guard may be provided. The invention may be applied to an industrial oven, or to gas heated ovens.
