Abstract

803,875. Tractors. TOMPKINS (LONG BUCKBY), Ltd., D. A. Feb. 22, 1957 [May 12, 1956], No. 14842/56. Class 79(1) [Also in Group XXI] Relates to a pile-driving attachment for a tractor 10 having a power take-off 11 and a pair of power-operated parallel arms 12 beneath a third arm 13. The attachment comprises vertical guides 14 for the weight 15 secured to the cable 18 passing over a pulley 19 at the top of the guides and around a winch 21 loose on the axle 39a and integral with the portion 41 of a clutch, the free end of the cable being anchored resiliently to an arm 26 on the weight. Manual clockwise rotation of a lever 33 engages the driving portion 40 of the clutch with the portion 41. Cushioned contact of the. weight with an abutment 31 moves a rod 32 upwardly to restore the lever 33 to the position shown and automatically effects declutching to permit the weight to fall under gravity.
